    Samara University celebrates Space Week

    08.04.2026 1970-01-01

As part of Russia’s inaugural Space Week (April 6–12, 2026), the Inter-University Department of Space Research at Samara University has prepared a special event for amateur radio enthusiasts around the globe.

From April 6 to 12, the Samara-built scientific and educational nanosatellite SamSat-Ionosphere will broadcast a festive Cosmonautics Day greeting via radio transmission. All radio operators who successfully receive and confirm the signal will be awarded an exclusive digital QSL card commemorating the occasion.

Full instructions for obtaining this collectible e-card are available on the official event website—the URL is embedded directly within the satellite’s greeting message itself.

Organizers emphasize that the celebration aims not only to honor pioneering figures like Yuri Gagarin, the first human in space, and Sergei Korolev, the legendary Chief Designer of the Soviet space program—but also to inspire a new generation of young people to explore the cosmos.

For details on how to participate and access additional information, the Inter-University Department of Space Research invites everyone to visit the official event website.
